Plantation Pineapple

Two years ago in Palm Springs, California something happened…. to me ;-)

At Bootlelegger Tiki I was served a cocktail so sublime, so delicious, it made do a double-take. The drink was an Old Fashioned. The Rum was something I had not expected. A rum, a rum that tasted unlike any other rum I was used to. THIS rum is the Plantation Pineapple Rum, or “Stiggins’ Fancy” is a revered spirit in the world of rum. Aged first in Bourbon barrels in Barbados and finished in Pierre Ferrand Cognac barrels in France with Queen Victoria Pineapple rinds the last few months of aging to impart the most delicate of effects. Please try it neat at first. Then in an Old Fashioned, then a Manhattan. Just TRY it! Enjoy!!
