Hinky Dinks Fizzy
Hinky Dinks Fizzy - This one was created by Trader Vic’s for their 50th Anniversary in 1984. Incidentally, “Hinky Dinks” was the name of Vic Bergeron’s (Trader Vic’s) first Restaurant. It is rarely seen on Tiki menus , but I really like the unique expression these ingredients provide. Gin makes it way into a fair number of Tiki creations, but I added a twist at the end. In addition to a excellent traditional gin, I add a .5 oz float on top of the always impressive Empress 1908 Gin. The 1908 is infused with Butterfly Pea Flower Blossoms that give it the unique flavor and stunning color of Indigo. This one is usually served in a 22 oz brandy snifter, but I have substituted a clear Tiki glass for the colors to come out. In a glass Tiki of crushed ice add:
Sparkling Wine
Pineapple Juice
Fresh Lime Juice
Passion Fruit Syrup
Giffard Abricot du Roussillon
Aviation Gin
Plantation 3 Star Rum
Float of Empress 1908 Original Indigo Gin
Garnish with Edible Orchid and Mint Sprig
Enjoy!
