The Lorikeet
The Lorikeet - The Lorikeet is named after a beautiful bird from Northern Australia. This drink was inspired my the Jungle Bird and has Rye as its feature spirit. Shannon Mustipher’s book, “Tiki - Modern Tropical Cocktails” has a wonderful version I am paying tribute to. Thanks @shannonmustipher for the wonderful book! Cheers!
2 oz Bulleit Rye - 90 Proof
.5 oz Banane du Brasil
.25 oz Cinnamon Syrup
1 oz Pineapple Juice
.75 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
6 Dashes Peychaud’s Bitters
4 Dashes Angostura Aromatic Bitter
Combine all in a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a Collins type glass. Top with crushed ice, then garnish with an Orange twist and 2 Pineapple spears. Enjoy!
