Hibiscus Rum Punch
Hibiscus Rum Punch - This drink was a long time coming! To get this one done I had to make the Smuggler’s Cove Hibiscus brandy liqueur in their eponymous cookbook. That took two weeks of aging etc. Was well worth the wait! This is originally a Jamaican Christmas tradition, but isn’t everyday Christmas when drinking a rum drink! It was originally called a Sorrel Rum Punch at SC, as Hibiscus is called Sorrel in the Caribbean. Since no one knew what that was, sales were not what they wanted. It’s all marketing!
Add the Seltzer to a Collins glass. Add the remaining ingredients to a cocktail shaker. Fill with cracked and cubed ice. Shake and strain into the glass. Top with more cracked ice and garnish with an edible candied hibiscus flower and lime wheel! Enjoy!
