Bali Hai Bastard - A take on the “Suffering Bastard” , this Marie King creation (Marie is a Tiki Goddess) is a gem! I was inspired to present this by an amazing find at an estate sale this weekend where I found a hidden gem. This tiki mug is an original from Trader Vic’s in Japan and is worth a hundred times what I paid for it! I put a decidedly Detroit spin on this one with two stellar editions from Two James; Dr. Bird Pineapple Rum ( a personal fave), and their French Connection Rye (In honor of Bastille Day!) The latter is aged in Armagnac and Cognac barrels.
In a blender cup of crushed ice add:

  • .75 oz Fresh Lime Juice

  • 1.5 oz Pineapple Juice

  • .5 oz Demerara Syrup

  • .5oz Real Passion Fruit Puree

  • 1.5 oz Doctor Bird Pineapple Rum (by Two James)

  • .25 oz Mezcal Espadin Joven

  • .75 oz The French Connection Rye (by Two James)

  • Garnish with Pineapple fronds, Enjoy!
